Beginning in the early 1990s, Local Initiatives for Education (L.I.F.E.) helped train community health workers in refugee camps in East Africa. Since then, we have worked to help children, families, and communities reach their full potential across the Horn of Africa.
Our Mission
Local Initiatives for Education (L.I.F.E.) is dedicated to providing clean drinking water, food, agricultural support, educational resources, and medical care in Africa. As a relief and development organization, we are commmitted to helping children, their families, and communities reach their full potential. We seek to work in partnership with community leaders and families to accomplish these goals. Our work extends assistance to all people regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race or ethnic background.
